Scrub
and Rinse
-
Disconnect
handpiece from coupler.
-
Push
button to remove bur.
-
Scrub
and rinse handpiece under warm tap water with a soft sponge. While
scrubbing and rinsing, it is best to keep the handpiece in the upright
position. Make sure the fiber optic light port near the head of the
handpiece is scrubbed well. Once a week or as needed, gently rub alcohol-soaked
cotton swab against the inside end of the fiber optic element to remove
debris or lubricant build up.
Lubricate
and Expel
- While
holding the can of Midwest Plus Aerosol Spray upright, insert
nozzle fully into handpiece (without a bur). Cover head of handpiece
with Midwest spray guard or paper towel. Lubricate your handpiece
with one quick spray of Midwest Plus then properly expel.
- All
lubricant must be thoroughly expelled by running handpiece (without
a bur) until it reaches normal speed, or until all excess lubricant
is expelled (a minimum of 20 seconds). Expel in operatory or using
Midwest Air Station. Wipe off any excess lubricant on outside of handpiece
with a dry gauze pad or paper towel.
- On a
weekly basis or if button gets stiff, spray Midwest Plus Aerosol
into chuck for one second.
